Transportation Census
With transportation becoming the largest source of Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the U.S, the sector cannot be ignored.
One surprising aspect is that the number of people telecommuted is rising across nearly every state, sometimes by as much over 65% in states such as Utah and Texas. We'll likely see that trend increase as more people have been exposed to the telecommuting as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Some states have shown rapidly increasing rates of Active Transportation. DC has seen the number of people bicycling to work more than double from 2010. Additionally, Maryland and Massachusets saw bicycle ridership increase between 30% to 45%.
